Over the Thanksgiving holiday our Senators will be home. The 11/21 vote was to move the matter to debate once they return from the holiday.

I urge each and everyone of you to visit their Senator’s office with the message they seem to not have heard. Vote for this Healthcare bill, and you better prepare for retirement.

To that end:

MAKE SURE TO DROP OFF A “HAPPY RETIREMENT” GREETING CARD!

This is our last chance to be heard! If you can’t get to their office just drop one in the mail! Find the addresses here: http://www.senate.gov/ . A list of Democrat Senators up for re-election in 2010 is here: http://www.fireandreamitchell.com/2009/11/21/a-list-of-democrat-senators-up-for-re-election-in-2010/

RSVP here, if you can: http://www.facebook.com/#/event.php?eid=179798034662&index=1

Be sure to invite EVERYONE YOU KNOW!

TIP 1: If there is already someone geared up to run against them, be sure to mention that candidate by name in a note, so they know that YOU KNOW who their competition is! Even better make sure they know you will be working on the competition’s campaign if you are so inclined!

TIP 2: Think about presenting them with a big beautiful Mylar Balloon for a little extra pizazz!!

TIP 3: Spend some quality crafty time with family and like-minded friends to deliver custom-crafted cards and doo-dads.

TIP 4: No time to go to the card shop? Here’s a free retirement card template you can print and send! http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC103754971033.aspx?CategoryID=CT101433941033 ht

TIP 5: Get a group together, meet up at a specific day/time and throw a party! Cards, balloons, cake, noise makers! Sing “For He’s a FOLLY Good Fellow,” give them a Barney the Dinosaur watch as a departing gift!

TIP 6: Film the delivery and/or party. Take pictures during your visit or scan your card! Post them here! (We do love your creativity, folks, but PLEASE stay on topic or your image will be deleted)

TIP 7: If your Senator is not there to see you, at least request the office manager. I believe this will provide more impact.

Again, please be sure to invite EVERYONE YOU KNOW!

RSVP here, if you can: http://www.facebook.com/#/event.php?eid=179798034662&index=1

He’s Watching

Posted by admin on August 8, 2009 under Religion & Truth | 14 Comments to Read

By Rene Simpson, my new friend via Facebook.

While we are wrestling with the issues of the day, there is a God who is watching it all. More and more we are choosing to exclude or delete the Creator from our everyday lives and decision making. Is it any wonder that we make the choices that we do? We make choices based on what our friends or relatives are doing, what our political party is currently pushing and what seems to benefit us at the time. Morals and values are relative, political correctness is the order of the day and “what’s in it for me ?” is a common question to ourselves before we do the right thing. Do we dare to buck the trends and just do what is right?

I do not know where this country is going, maybe to hell in a hand basket, but if we want to keep being a free land we better put the brakes on a lot of things we are doing right now. The cult of celebrity, the shallowness of our culture, the vulgarity of some of our conduct and the forsaking of decency, honor and integrity for fame or attention and not to mention corruption in every form of government, these things will surely bring us to the brink of disaster. Do we dare to stand on principles?

We have chosen a president like we choose our favorite movie star: “He’s handsome, he’s eloquent, he’s cool, he’s an African American”. What about what he truly believes?
We are messing up the great experiment that is the United States of America for shallow reasons. Do we dare to go beyond the surface and find the truth?

What does “change” really mean. Does it mean obliterating the thought of God from every public view and forum so that we may not offend. Does it mean giving up our freedoms so we can have the government as our daddy? Does it mean true diversity or suppression of one group so others will not complain? Does it mean taking from some to give to others by force? Does it mean squashing free speech when we do not agree with it. Do we dare to stand up in the marketplace of ideas and say I believe in righteousness, freedom of religion, the dignity of the individual and the protection of the same no matter born or unborn ?

The government has now asked the citizens to rat on each other for speaking out. What? How did we get here ? Is there a right and a wrong? What does America truly stand for and why are we losing it? Where does God really fit in here? Do we dare ask him? The framers of our constitution did.Though the founders were not perfect they were wise enough to know that they should seek divine guidance to form this country into a free republic.

He’s watching. He truly is and I don’t think that he is amused.

It’s difficult to keep a proper perspective at a time like this, but thanks for reminding me, Rene!

Who spoke these words to a nation of believers?

“No human counsel hath devised, nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the most high God, who while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. … I do, therefore, invite my fellow citizens … to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father, who dwelleth in the heavens. And I recommend to them that, while offering up the ascriptions justly due to him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged and fervently implore the interposition of the almighty hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it, as soon as may be consistent with the divine purposes, to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility and union.”

Church, State and Constitutional Anathema

Posted by admin on November 22, 2008 under Civil Rights - An Ironic View, Religion & Truth, Ummm - Your Intolerance is Showing! | Be the First to Comment

For years, the Separation of Church and State issue has been gnawed on even though there is absolutely no such provision in the Constitution of the United States of America.

The “Establishment” clause reads:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

The current courts’ interpretation has twisted this clause in such a way that the clause is anathema to itself.  It’s like that commericial that is on TV… Guy walks into a dry cleaner with a shirt and tells the attendant “I want it starched and not starched.” The attendent asks, “what part do you want starched and what part do your want not starched?” The man replies “All of it.”

Catholic support for Obama presents problems for church

Rachel Zoll – Associated Press Writer – 11/11/2008 12:05:00 PM

BALTIMORE – U.S. Roman Catholic bishops, meeting a week after the election, are re-examining how they explain church teaching after President-elect Obama, who supports abortion rights, won a majority of Catholic votes.

During the campaign, many bishops had spoken out on abortion more forcefully than they had in 2004, telling Catholic politicians and voters that abortion should be the most important consideration in setting policy and deciding which candidate to back.

Jesus on My Bumper, But Not on My Mind

Jesus on my bumper, but not on my mindAs I was standing on the roadside waving campaign signs, it became sadly apparent that churches had not been keeping the abortion issue at the forefront of their teachings this election season.

People had any variety of Christian bumper stickers, medallians, license plates and danglies stuck to screwed on and hanging from their cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles. But they were voting for Obama, the baby killer.

Take THAT! for Being Pro-Marriage!

Christian Anti-Defamation CommissionMany evangelical Christians, Roman Catholics and especially Mormons that supported the biblical definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman are being terrorized by radical homosexual activists. There have been physical attacks, threats of violence and property has been vandalized. The potential of violence continues even after the election.

“If Christians were terrorizing homosexuals with threats of violence the homosexuals would cry ‘hate crime,’” said Dr. Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission. “Where’s the love from homosexuals who demand tolerance from everyone else, but cannot respect the results of the democratic process so they resort to illegally terrorizing Christians and people of faith.”

Martin Luther King, Jr. and Black Liberation Theology

Posted by admin on November 6, 2008 under Religion & Truth | Be the First to Comment

James Cone, a prominent Black Liberation Theologian, believed that the New Testament revealed Jesus as one who identified with those suffering under oppression, the socially marginalized and the cultural outcasts. And since the socially constructed categories of race in America (i.e., whiteness and blackness) had come to culturally signify dominance (whiteness) and oppression (blackness), from a theological perspective, Cone argued that Jesus reveals himself as black in order to disrupt and dismantle white oppression.

He also said that Martin Luther King’s Theology did not focus enough on his “blackness.” The Bible teaches that there is no respecter of persons with God: “For there is no respect of persons with God,” Paul declared (Rom. 2: 11).  The Scriptures emphasize repeatedly that God is not judging or treating man, any man, with respect of persons. In other words, God is just and equitable in his dealings with man. i.e. – God does not see color.

Twenty Years of Theology – Lost?

Posted by admin on under Religion & Truth | Be the First to Comment

Obama bought into and fully committed himself to this radically negative – some might say false –  gospel. Twenty years, $27,000 invested in Wrights church. Then Obama  LIES about not knowing the Theology of Black Liberation that was being taught and is a very narrow view of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ
