"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." ~(1948) Norman Thomas, Six-time Socialist Cadidate for US Presidency
OMMISSION: Hasn’t come forward publicly to admit responsibility.
“Uh, and so, uh, I wish I could sit here and say that I’m not upset with you, but I am very upset because, you know, what you do is give, you know, maybe giving any reason to, as Mr. Gonzales said, to give someone a heart surgery when they really don’t need it.”

Are journalists playing favorites with some of the key political figures involved with regulatory oversight of U.S. financial markets?
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews launched several vitriolic attacks on the Republican Party on his Sept. 17, 2008, show, suggesting blame for Wall Street problems should be focused in a partisan way. However, he and other media have failed to thoroughly examine the Democratic side of the blame game.
I will have to admit, every since I heard about her politics, I have disliked Nancy Pelosi. Here of late, my dislike has peaked. I dislike her now mostly because she is such a liar.
She screeched incessantly that it was George Bush’s policies, as though just saying it enough would make it true.
While many Republicans stood up and pointed out the impending crisis, a whole bunch of Democrats stood up for and defended Fannie Mae’s and Freddie Mac’s practices and of bullying institutions into making risky loans to unqualified individuals. As President it is not a stretch to imagine Obama standing in front of Senate and House espousing how government MUST FORCE LENDING to anyone and everyone regardless of their ability to repay.
If Obama would have had his way – and enough power – we would have seen this crisis years and years ago.
